1. What is My Woolen Friends?
My Woolen Friends is the place where wool and joy come together to give you the most adorable and uniquely needle felted items, handmade right here in the heart of Berlin, Germany.
2. Who is My Woolen Friends?
All of the My Woolen Friends items are made by yours truly, Ioana, also known as Io. I am a self-taught needle felter who first fell in love with needle felting in February 2020. I am madly passionate about needle felting as it allows me to tap into my creativity in a way I couldn’t before. I’m also a photographer and a big music lover.
3. What are My Woolen Friends made of?
This one is rather obvious, as My Woolen Friends are — gasp! — made out of sheep wool! 🙂 Nowadays, I make most of my items out of Maori wool, an Australian sheep breed but I would, occasionally, still use Tyrolean mountain sheep wool. This exact type of wool might change over time, but wool will remain the core material of my makings. If you want to see what a specific item is made out of, you can always find all materials used for a specific design in its product description.
The vast majority of my items are environmentally friendly and natural. The only plastic I use is the occasional plastic eyes that some items have.
4. Are My Woolen Friends toys or safe for children?
My Woolen Friends are made for display only and are not suited as toys, especially for children under the age of 3.
With that being said, if someone still wants to buy a woolen friend for a child, that is very possible, as long as they understand that these goods are not meant as toys, and that I cannot be responsible if the goods get damaged or broken when used otherwise than as stated above.
5. Do you accept custom orders?
As a general rule, no, I don’t take on custom orders. I do accept custom order on very rare occasions and the decision making behind accepting such an offer is very personal. You can contact me regarding a custom order if you’d like but I cannot guarantee I can fulfill it.
However, I’m flexible when it comes to adjusting the color and/or size of an item or small details on existing designs.
The reason I don’t accept general custom orders is because it’s so important that I enjoy the process of felting my little woolen friends. That means listening to my creativity and keeping independence over what I make. Custom orders can sometimes put the artist in a position of prioritizing someone else’s wishes over their own style or choices, which can be soul-crushing. Nobody really wins in those situations, so I prefer to avoid them. I hope you can understand where I’m coming from.
6. Shipping
Note: “Warenpost” is an economical shipping option available for orders within Germany. Please keep in mind that it may take a little longer to arrive compared to standard tracked shipping.
Please keep in mind that orders outside the EU may be subject to customs and import fees, for which customers are responsible.

1. Was ist My Woolen Friends?
My Woolen Friends ist der Ort, an dem Wolle und Freude zusammenkommen, um dir die bezauberndsten und einzigartig nadelgefilzten Artikel zu schenken – handgefertigt hier im Herzen von Berlin, Deutschland.
2. Wer ist My Woolen Friends?
Alle My Woolen Friends Artikel werden von mir selbst gefertigt – Ioana, auch bekannt als Io. Ich bin eine Autodidaktin im Nadel filzen und habe mich im Februar 2020 in diese Kunst verliebt. Ich bin leidenschaftlich begeistert vom Nadel filzen, weil es mir erlaubt, meine Kreativität auf eine Weise auszuleben, wie ich es vorher nicht konnte. Außerdem bin ich Fotografin und große Musikliebhaberin.
3. Woraus bestehen My Woolen Friends?
Das liegt eigentlich auf der Hand, denn My Woolen Friends sind — Überraschung! — aus Schafwolle gemacht! 🙂
Heutzutage stelle ich die meisten meiner Artikel aus Maori-Wolle her, einer australischen Schafrasse, aber gelegentlich verwende ich noch Tiroler Bergschafwolle. Die genaue Art der Wolle kann sich im Laufe der Zeit ändern, aber Wolle bleibt das Kernmaterial meiner Anfertigungen. Wenn Sie wissen möchten, woraus ein bestimmter Artikel besteht, finden Sie in der Produktbeschreibung immer alle Materialien, die für ein bestimmtes Design verwendet wurden.
Der Großteil meiner Artikel ist umweltfreundlich und natürlich. Das einzige Plastik, das ich verwende, sind gelegentliche Kunststoffaugen, die manche Figuren haben.
4. Sind My Woolen Friends Spielzeug oder für Kinder geeignet?
My Woolen Friends sind ausschließlich zur Dekoration gedacht und nicht als Spielzeug geeignet, besonders nicht für Kinder unter 3 Jahren.
Wenn dennoch jemand einem Kind einen Woolen Friend schenken möchte, ist das selbstverständlich möglich – solange klar ist, dass diese Artikel nicht als Spielzeug gedacht sind und ich daher nicht verantwortlich bin, falls sie bei einem anderen Gebrauch beschädigt oder kaputtgehen.
5. Nimmst du individuelle Aufträge an?
Grundsätzlich nehme ich keine individuellen Aufträge an. In sehr seltenen Fällen mache ich Ausnahmen, aber die Entscheidung dahinter ist sehr persönlich. Du kannst mich gerne wegen einer Sonderanfertigung kontaktieren, aber ich kann nicht garantieren, dass ich den Auftrag annehmen kann.
Ich bin allerdings flexibel, wenn es darum geht, die Farbe und/oder Größe eines Artikels oder kleine Details an bestehenden Designs anzupassen.
Der Grund, warum ich im Allgemeinen keine Sonderanfertigungen anbiete, ist, dass es mir extrem wichtig ist, Freude am Filzen meiner kleinen Woolen Friends zu haben. Das bedeutet, meiner eigenen Kreativität zu folgen und unabhängig zu bleiben in dem, was ich mache. Individuelle Aufträge können den Künstler manchmal dazu bringen, die Wünsche anderer über den eigenen Stil oder die eigenen Entscheidungen zu stellen – und das kann ziemlich niederschmetternd sein. Niemand gewinnt in solchen Situationen wirklich, weshalb ich sie lieber vermeide. Ich hoffe, du verstehst, woher ich komme.
6. Versand
Hinweis: Warenpost ist eine kostengünstige Versandoption für Bestellungen innerhalb Deutschlands. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Lieferung etwas länger dauern kann als bei dem Versand mit Sendungsverfolgung.
Der Versand ist innerhalb der Europäischen Union möglich. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Bestellungen außerhalb der EU eventuell Zoll- und Einfuhrgebühren unterliegen, für die der Kunde verantwortlich ist.

7. Verpackung

Wenn du bei My Woolen Friends kaufst, unterstützt du ein kleines, von einer Frau geführtes Unternehmen und hilfst mir dabei, meinen Traum zu leben. Außerdem schätzt und bevorzugst du damit einzigartige, leidenschaftliche Handarbeit gegenüber unpersönlicher, computergesteuerter Massenproduktion.
Weil ich meine Designs selbst wähle und erschaffe, wird jeder Artikel in diesem Shop gemacht, weil ich es möchte – nicht, weil ich es muss. Das erlaubt mir, mit Freude zu arbeiten und wirklich mein Herzblut hineinzustecken – und ich bin sicher, das sieht man auch in jedem einzelnen Stück.
